Blood Pressure, Oxygen Saturation Monitoring

Blood pressure and oxygen saturation are vital signs that reflect the body’s cardiovascular and respiratory health. Regular monitoring of these parameters is essential for early detection and management of various medical conditions.

Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring measures the force of blood against the artery walls. It includes two values: systolic (when the heart beats) and diastolic (when the heart rests). Normal BP is generally around 120/80 mmHg. Abnormal values may indicate hypertension, hypotension, or other cardiovascular issues that need timely intervention.

Oxygen Saturation (SpO₂) monitoring measures the percentage of oxygen carried by hemoglobin in the blood. This is typically done using a pulse oximeter, and a normal SpO₂ level ranges from 95% to 100%. Low readings may signal respiratory disorders, COPD, asthma, or sleep apnea, and require immediate evaluation.
